Capabilities

The switches that say what the assistant may use: memory, your old chats, its tools, and your computer.

Settings, Capabilities: every permission the assistant has, on one row

This row answers one question: what may the assistant reach for on its own? Each group below is a switch or a choice, and each holds for every chat at once. A collection can narrow some of them further in its own Room settings.

  • Memory

Save and use memories, and Search and reference chats. The first lets it keep facts and use them later; the second lets it look through your past chats when it answers. Memory is the page for both.

  • Tools

When tools are handed over decides whether the assistant has its tools from the first message of a chat, or only once a turn needs them.

  • Cage density

For a shape the assistant sculpts in 3D: Loose is easier to sculpt, Dense holds fine detail, and Ask every time leaves the choice to each job.

  • Your computer

What Bench may do on the machine you connected, with the permissions you have granted listed under Always allowed and Stop allowing on each. What Bench can reach explains the three kinds of permission; this is where a standing one is withdrawn.

Questions

Capabilities

I switched something off here. Does it apply in my collections?

Off here is off everywhere. On here can still be narrowed in a room: Room settings has its own switches for memory, images, the portfolio and market sense.

Where do I allow Bench for the first time?

Not here. The first permission is asked in the chat, at the moment Bench wants to do something; Always allowed is where it lands afterwards.
