Where everything is

The sidebar, the chat box and Settings, named the way the app names them.

A sidebar on the left, a chat in the middle, Settings behind your name

Everything you can do in DuoHand starts from one of three places. The sidebar holds your chats, your collections and your files. The chat box is where a run starts and where it reports. Settings, under your name at the bottom of the sidebar, holds every switch: language, credit, your computer, your data.

  • The sidebar

New Chat starts a conversation; Search Chats finds an old one by any word in it. Your Chats lists them, newest first. Above that sit the four views: Chat, Studio for collections, Projects for chats grouped around one job, and Files and Images for everything you have brought in or DuoHand has made. Your name at the bottom opens Settings and Log out.

  • The chat box

The row under the text is what you can bring in: Add photos & files, Take photo on a phone, From portfolio for something already in a collection, and Dictate to speak instead of type. The three switches beside it change what the next answer does: Create image, Search the web, Design judgement. The send button is also the stop button; Changing your mind says how.

  • The model and the effort

Above the text, Select model picks how much thinking the next answer gets, and Effort how thoroughly. Both are per answer, and both are shown on the price the answer carries. What it costs has the shape of it.

Settings

Every switch is in Settings, in one of eleven rows

In the order they appear: General for language and your display name; Account; Voice; Credits, Usage and Storage for what you have and what you have spent; Data for the training switch, deletion and export; Feedback; Capabilities for what the assistant may use; Your computer for the machine Bench runs on; and Skills for the notes it works from. Each row has a page of its own in this manual.

Questions

Finding your way

Where did a file I sent go?

Files in the sidebar lists everything you have brought into any chat, and everything DuoHand has made, newest first. Images is the same list, pictures only.

What is the difference between a chat, a project and a collection?

A chat is one conversation. A project is a folder of chats around one job. A collection is a room in Studio, where the pieces, the directions and the reasons live and where other people can be invited. Rooms and who sees them is the collection's own page.

How do I get back to a chat from last month?

Search Chats, then any word you remember from it. A chat stays until you delete it; a long one may show Earlier messages have been summarized at the top, which is the chat folding its earlier history so it can keep going.

Type to search. Enter opens the first match, Esc closes.
